Tomb Raider: Ex Oblivione - The Cold Waste

  • Die Schieberei war ja nicht schlecht gemacht, nur nachdem ich das gelöst hatte, stand nach dem Speichern "emty slot"
    Wenn das Rätsel gelöst ist, unbedingt den Hebel ziehen. Nicht vorher.
    Ich musste das Ganze noch einmal machen.

    Ich habe ein älteres Save genommen und das Schieberätsel nicht gemacht!
    Ich kannte ja die Lösung ;)
    Danach konnte ich wieder speichern :)
    Für den silbernen Drachen sollte man sich in dem Gebiet wo man den Stein für
    den goldenen Drachen einsetzt genau umschauen.

    Da gibt es noch zwei weitere Schrägen wo man auf den Felsen hoch kann.

  • FYI, I have been playing now with Version 2 of this game, and the sliding puzzle room has NOT been corrected. There is still the save game bug! (This bug also occurs sometimes later in the level when trying to get the last 2 secrets.)

    I tried to save in the multi-switch room after doing the sliding puzzle to get the symbol, but when using the last switch to get rid of the spikes the save game bug still occurred, but the game did temporarily save in the multi-switch room first.

    When replaying the game without doing the sliding puzzle, then the wall switch by the door is useless because there are now 3 switches to pull in the upstairs multi-switch room which will get rid of the spikes. This is not a function of the V2 game, but rather not doing the sliding puzzle. Thus, this area and its puzzles were NOT properly beta-tested despite Neltharion's claim in the readme file.

    I did finish level 2 and got to level 3 with all 6 secrets.

    Note: savegames from level 1 from Version 1 will NOT work in Version 2 because Neltharion changed the first 3 level data files (but not the later levels). Thus, if Neltharion updates the game to Version 3 in the future, a player would probably have to replay the entire game again if that player had already progressed to a higher level (and there is a very high probability that there will be a Version 3 later this summer). This will also make it nearly impossible to exchange savegames between players unless they have the same game version.


    I played the first room with the stone-key door and the swing poles, but there was only ammo and enemies. Thus, I didn't save that progress because of the economy of the stones warning. I ended the level with 2 stones in the inventory. Thus, I suspect that the swing pole room progress could have been saved, but again I didn't see any need to do it.

  • Welche Version spielst Du?
    Hier gibt es einen Savebug nach dem Blockrätsel.
    Wenn Du Version 1 spielst, lass das Rätsel aus und suche oben bei den Hebeln nach den drei Zeichen auf dem Boden unter den Hebeln.
    Die lösung habe ich gepostet.

  • Ich habe nun diese 3xHebelaufgabe gelöst, dann habe ich den Haupthebel bei den Stacheln betätigt und das grosse Tor ging auf. Nb. ich habe gar kein Schieberätsel gesehen... wo war das den? und das andere was bewirkt eigentlich der Hebel an der Mauer?

    Aber es gibt nun ein anderes Problem das ich meinen akt. Spielstand nicht mehr abspeichern kann! Den wenn ich diesen Laden will kommt= Load "Empty" siehe Bilder und je mehr ich meine vorhanden Savegames überschreibe desto mehr "empty" :cursing:

    Obwohl ich mit der 3.Version Spiele!

  • Markus, auf deinem Bild unten ist das Schieberätsel.
    Tu das nicht. Lauf einfach zu den Bodenhebeln und betätige die drei mit dem Zeichen von Post #3
    Danach sollte das Speichern funktionieren.
    Bei mir ging das. Den Henel auf Bild +3 brauchst Du gar nicht betätigen.

    Although I'm playing with V3, I did not play the Cold Waste level in that version. I had played V2 and used my savegames from the Ygorith level to start V3.

    Obviously, Neltharion did not correct all of the possible causes of the savegame bug in V3 even though he said he did on TR Customs.

    The wall switch is one of the three switches/levers needed to remove the spikes around the floor lever in the original pushable (sliding) puzzle to form the correct symbol in the air. It is not needed if you skip the pushable puzzle (then there are 3 floor levers in the upstairs room).

    What I did in V2 was: I did not save the game from before entering the pushable room until I got back to the outside area. This is not really a problem if you skip the pushable puzzle and just use the correct three symbol levers. Do not use the wall lever because the spike-free floor lever will open the gate. Be sure to get all of the pickups (lockstone, potion, ammo) before leaving.

    You may get a problematic "empty slot" save when you are back in the outside area (I did in V2). Just reload the last save and continue. Thus, save often after you get back to outside area and later boat area. If you go for secrets, there are two in the outside snowy area.

    There has not been an "empty slot" save problem in levels 3 through 7.

    I suspect Neltharion may be working on a Version 4 this week to correct something. V2 was supposed to fix V1, but V3 was needed to fix V2's problems.

    Okay, das habe ich gemacht: Spielablauf: Die 3Bodenhebeln betätigt (Die Stachel sind weg) Kamerahinweis folgt. Danach den Haupt-Hebel betätigt. Tor offen... dort den Schlüssel genommen.

    Gerne kann irgendwer es selbst mal versuchen mit meinem SG15 Spielen... Ich musste es zippen, ist gross (start oben bei den Bodenhebeln) und bitte mal es ansehen und mir Schreiben was hier nicht passt....

    ich komme jedenfalls nicht mehr weiter, kein Savegame kann ich mehr von meinem Spielfortschritt mehr machen! Kann nicht mehr Laden kann weil es dann angezeigt wird als => empty

    evtl. warte ich noch bis die Version4 noch kommt. In der Hoffnung das ich nicht nochmal alles von vorne wiederholen muss.

    I pulled the levers in your savegame and got the key. I went back to the outside area and saved the game. The save is in the attached zip file. You can continue playing with this new save game. If you get the "Empty Slot" bug again", then go back to the last save you may have made from this zip file and continue playing. There are 2 secrets in this outside area, and you need to go back to the boat.

    Please note: Your upload/download zip file save may have been partially corrupted or your game installation is corrupted. This is because the area with the pushable pillars is missing -- instead there is a stone block and symbols in the air (no pillars or pushables). Thus, I don't know if you will have any further problems but if you get to the "Sarkomand" level, you should then be ok. Good luck!

    Contrary to my last post in this thread, the save bug ("Empty Slot") can also occur in Version 3 at the end of level 7 when Lara encounters the final boss and will get the boat key. I got this bug today, but I avoided saving from just before the final boss battle (actually quite easy with the right weapon) to reaching the next level (river level). I have only started that level getting to the first stop-point ledge with the canoe. The save bug occurred in level 7 when killing the boss with the grenade gun, or when saving in the boat hut. Neltharion's readme file says that this level 7 boss may cause the game to crash. He should have also mentioned the save bug. The beta testers seemed to be only testing speed timing and progression for timed runs or difficulty, but not save bugs, visual errors, etc.

    This picture shows what the pushable-area looks like in your zip file savegame on my computer (Version 3):

    I just went back to TR Customs and read Neltharion's post on Version 3 fixes. I now suspect that your game installation may be ok, and Neltharion REMOVED the pushables completely replacing it with the static ledge block. If Lara stands on top of that block and looks toward the spike lever she will see most of the correct symbol. This means the player must guess the complete correct symbol by trial and error. The wall switch may be needed to align the symbols in the air first to see this.

    Since I don't have any savegames from Version 3 for level 2, I can't test this.

    However, Neltharion seems to be unaware that he never fixed the true root cause of the savegame bug ("Empty Slot") which occurs in levels 2 and 7. Someday, there may be a Version 4.

  • Thank you very much for your effort and your tips!
    First I copied the whole original folder and deleted all savegames and then unzipped your savegame. Started the game and clicked Load. Gameplay: found 1 secret and took it....then back to the boat and used the key...a little later: level change. Now I wanted to save there again but it didn't work... see screen.
    It doesn't work with my savegame or yours. I also think the size of the SG compared to the others is much too big = corrupt/defect, so it doesn't work anymore = BUG
